Yet another limited edition Mustang. This is the 2008 FR500CJ, cj meaning "Cobra Jet." I posted a nice high resolution picture of what the Cobra Jet Mustang looks like, pretty cool huh? No specific details on how much horsepower this beast has, but we do know it will have a supercharger 5.4 liter 32-valve V8 engine. So I'm looking for around 500+ horsepower! The car features new body work: such as new side louvers, 4 hood pins, and powered by Ford badge. It's definitely shaping up to be a super muscle car for the drag strip!

2010 Mustang Pictures Revealed
There isn't a whole lot shown in these pictures, but you get an idea what the rims will look like, interior, and angles used on the car. I can't say for sure, but it seems as though Ford is going for a more sleek/sharp look. I really hope they put in a more powerful engine in the Mustang GT this time around, 4.6L is just not enough for my appetite! There is talk that a 5.0L will go in this time around.

Fuel Efficient Foxbody Mustang
If you are looking for a good fuel economy car, a V8 muscle is really not a good choice! But, not a lot of people know that back in 1982 and 1983 Ford made a four cylinder Foxbody Mustang. Yeah, can you believe it? AKA four banger! The manual transmission four cylinder Foxes got an average or 40mpg on the highway and 25mpg in the city. Pretty amazing mileage for the 80s and still to this day. The only think you will be sacrificing is the sound and power, yeah the only thing! I know that kind of sucks, because isn't that what makes a muscle car? Power and sound, not necessarily, a lot of people still classify a muscle car by just looks. So if you are one of those guys or gals, pick up a 1980s Foxbody Mustang. Problem is you aren't going to find one in good shape, expect to sacrifice a little elbow grease.

Carroll Opens Shelby Corner Cafe
At the grand opening which was on the same weekend as the NHRA race at Las Vegas, the party goers included a who’s who of the racing realm including NHRA driver Bob Tasca III , Don “the Snake” Prudhomme and NHRA Top Fuel Funny Car Champion Robert Hight. The local Mustang club was also in attendance with several Mustangs. The food is a light American café fare, priced right and perfect for breakfast or lunch. Hoods of various Shelby models hang from the ceiling as well as light fixtures made from Shelby Mustang grilles.
“Shelby Corner Café is a fun place to dine while visiting Carroll’s two favorite places, the track and his factory,” said Amy Boylan, President of Shelby Automobiles. “We initially planned to open a place for Shelby employees as the selection of eateries is a bit limited at the Speedway. We had so many requests by enthusiasts to eat here after a museum tour that decided to open the café to the public. On any given day, you might see our chief test driver, production crew, or even Carroll himself eating at the next table.”
Indeed the Shelby Corner Café will surely become a new spot on the map for Ford enthusiasts who are visiting Las Vegas on business or vacation. The Café is just across the parking lot from the Shelby HQ and Museum, so it makes a perfect hour stop. Business hours are from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm.
“The Café will be available for private parties and even has a door to accommodate the entry of a car inside,” noted Boylan. “We might even add a stop at the Café to the Shelby car delivery program for a private meal.”
We happen to know that the new Café will become the number one place for car clubs to meet in Las Vegas! The Shelby Corner Cafe is located on Speedway Blvd, just two blocks southeast of Interstate 15 in far north Las Vegas.
Man Wins Mustang at Barrett-Jackson
Ford Racing has created a traveling road show display that comprises side-by-side dyno drag racing simulators. Mounted atop are two identical Mustangs in which lucky people from the audience at the show are chosen to race against one another. This year Ford upped the ante by awarding the top winner of the matches with a new car. When the smoke cleared on Saturday March 29, John Porto emerged as the winner of Ford’s first ever simulated drag racing tournament. Porto, a resident of Stuart, FL and an avid automotive enthusiast, was awarded a new V6 Mustang from the South Florida Ford Dealers for his impressive driving. Being a smart and able enthusiast, John upgraded to a Ford Mustang GT that will soon be fitted with Ford Racing’s FR1 power upgrade package and FR3 Handling Pack.
“We aim to excite at Barrett-Jackson and the Ford drag racing contest took the entertainment value of our Palm Beach auction to the next level,” said Steve Davis, President of Barrett-Jackson. “For the final race, hundreds of people surrounded the stage, creating the buzz and anticipation of an actual big-time drag race. In addition to the new contest, Ford also sold some amazing cars for charity, which helped bring our charity total for the entire Palm Beach event to over $1 million.”
Ford created a “drag strip” at the event with a pair of actual Ford Mustang Bullitts in front of an NHRA style “Christmas tree” set of lights that simulate a quarter mile drag strip. Individuals entered a drawing for the chance to compete in a series of eliminations where the winner was determined by a combination of reaction and elapsed time. With SPEED cameras capturing live coverage of the championship race, Porto recorded a remarkable quarter-mile time of 13.01 seconds, earning the title and an attractive addition to his garage.
“This was the experience of a lifetime,” noted Porto. “I’ve been attending Barrett-Jackson every year since it started in Palm Beach and this was without a doubt my most memorable trip. Ford has been extremely accommodating during the entire process, including quick delivery of the car. I gave the new Mustang to my wife, so I’ll have to defend my title next year and win one for myself.”
Porto received his Mustang GT from Advantage Ford of Stuart on Sunday, March 30, just one day after winning the drag race at Barrett-Jackson. The Ford Racing FR1 power upgrade package and FR3 Handling Pack that will be added to the car were part of the original prize from Ford.
“Ford Motor Company and the South Florida Ford and Lincoln Mercury Dealers are proud to partner with Barrett-Jackson to bring this exciting drag racing event to Palm Beach,” said Rob Johnston, Marketing Manager, Ford Motor Company Florida Region.
“The entire weekend was a huge success for our team. Collectively, we were able to raise money for the Ford Salute to Education Scholarship Program, a partnership with the South Florida Ford and Lincoln Mercury Dealers that's been in place for nearly 14 years. The program has awarded nearly $3 million in scholarships to deserving high school seniors over that period, and together with Barrett-Jackson, we were able to bring more awareness to the program.”
Ford's EcoBoost Engines Ready For Showroom
The fruits of Ford’s monumental turnaround effort which we have been watching and talking about for the last two years are finally starting to bloom. All the talk is starting to turn to walk as rollout of new products and technology from every corner of Ford is reaching a fever pitch. While the all new cars and trucks have been stealing the headlines and will continue to do so, one of the biggest stories in Ford’s recent history will be under the hood of all these new cars. As everyone knows, gas prices and new government regulations will be changing the automotive landscape before we know it. Ford has been hard at work developing the next generation of high tech engines long before gas prices rose to $3.50 a gallon and well before the new CAFÉ legislation was hatched. They saw it coming.
We recently had the opportunity to see Ford’s new EcoBoost engine technology up close, touch it with our hands, and chat with Ford engineers about how it works and where it will be used. EcoBoost, which mates advanced direct injection technology and turbocharging with a gasoline engine, can deliver up to 20 percent better fuel economy, 15 percent lower CO2 emissions and superior driving performance versus larger displacement engines. The technology will be spread across Ford’s lineup from small cars to large pickups.
